TJ's Cardigan - Progress update

I started this cardigan on 1/12/2012. and I am almost done with the first skein of yarn. It's knitting up beautifully. So different an experience from the previous two sweaters I've knit.

The first sweater I knit was a great Debbie Bliss Pattern but the yarn that was chosen, though a beautiful color and texture, was a horrible finished product that has stretched and pilled to no end.

The second sweater I did was made with a bright robins egg blue with flecks of miscellaneous color. The yarn was called "Blossom". I immediately fell in love with it. I picked my pattern and even though my instructors thought me crazy for choosing the extremely fuzzy yarn I started my project. After three months of knitting and errors... I sat on my couch and in a 1/2 hr  ripped out 3 months of work. Balled it up and threw it in the back of the closet. A few months to a year later I hauled it back out again and preceded to begin again and finished it. But it just wasn't what I envisioned. The this last fall I bought a bought a book called "Coastal Knits" and fell in love once again with the "Water's Edge Cardigan" pattern. I am so surprised at how fast this is knitting up. I've had the yarn in my stash forever and its such a beautiful Green color that its so much fun to see it come into shape.

The Water's Edge Cardigan

This is my new sweater that I started on 1/12/2012. Its a beautiful pattern and seems to be knitting up great. although I'm not that far but so far it is going smoothly.

The yarn is Rowan Felted Tweed and its a celery/sage color. I couldn't believe that I actually had to buy a 32" size 8 circular needle. With all the needles that I have in my collection. An assortment of my mom's and mine (200+ pairs of needles)... you'd think I would have had it.

I will keep updating with pictures as I get further along.

The new Sox - Mysterium

I started a new sock pattern this past weekend. I am calling it "Mysterium". I found the pattern on Ravelry and it was a KAL knit a long. The pattern is very well written and goes fast too! I love the color: The Incredible Shrinking Violet!!!

My New Years Resolution and the curious case of the birthday Sox

I never make new years resolutions but this year I decided I would. I want to expand my network of friends and meet new people. So I decided to start this by attending a weekly knitting night near my home. I went last night for the first time and had a blast. I met some new people who (of course) love to knit.

I also finished a project that I began in September. Hooray Stephanie's sox are now finished and I can't wait to give them to her!

I am also on a quandary about what to pick for my new project... I am heading towards a sweater. I have a bunch of yarn already in my stash. I have a pattern called "Water's Edge Cardigan" from the Coastal Knits book.
